today was fun =)

Got up early in the morning and helped Xue Xiang moved her things into her new rented room. It was very nice and cosy... wish i had rented a room too.. but then i think living in a hostel in sch would be more exciting with more pple arnd... not so lonely... but her room is so nice, with bed, pillows and comfortal provided, laundry, tv, wireless internet... everything... wow!!

Then we went shopping at the mall and went to the garden at the top of the mall called Debonair Gardens, nice name right! and it was a very nice garden too!

~nice place to hold a wedding =)

Met up with my roommate (from Italy) in the dorm... headed to chinatown where they had a fair going on... oh i miss the smell of chinese food... its nice to recognise foodstuff in the market like water chestnuts, yam and dried shrimp... hehe now i have new places to go for marketing ahah...

~Chinatown

then we walked to Prince's Island where they had a latino fair but had to pay entrance fee so we didn't go in... walked arnd till 6pm, met up with another friend from germany to have dinner at the old speghetti house... the food was a little disappointing though, nevertheless it was a proper meal.. and i had soup!! i miss soup... sat there and talked abt the difference in culture in our different countries... it was very interesting =)

Who said exchange was fun.....grrrr

Feel so miserable and lonely now... i couldn't get the chemistry modules i need... this means that i only have 1 chemistry module and i have to take 5 more when i go back =x shitz... the department of chemistry said that my modules only fit half of their prerequisites so they cannot grant me the modules i wanna take =x and i tot that NUS was quite popular but then it seems like many pple have never heard of NUS nor have they heard of Singapore... abit sad actually... cos i tot exchange students might get some special treatment, like those i received when we went to Thailand or China for immersion programmes... but thats not the case lor... exchange students are like 2nd class citizens.... and it doesn't feel good to be a one...

How?? why am i here??? grrrr and the university is not very nice lor... fall short of what i expected... its smaller than NUS, there's only 1 canteen and i don noe wat to do now...

I have to accept that module: which is an organic chem module... shitz... and i'm bad at organic chem stuff... argh!!! how??? and my txtbooks..... i can't use them now... might even need to send my org chem one over...

i hate it here... i wanna go home!! i miss my family and friends and pax!! i miss the comfort of living in a familiar place.... i hate to orientate myself abt the uni all over again... i wanna go HOME!!!!!

Harlo Canada!!

Day 1: Arrival at Vancouver
Reached Vancouver at 11+ in the morning, but by the time we got by customs and got our bags, it was almost 2pm. Lots of Japanese were going to Canada for holiday… hmm don’t know why. Took a cab to downtown and check-in at Hostelling International – downtown central.
Went to the waterfront information about 10 buildings down and saw the Canada Place. Took a seabus over to Lonsdale Quay, then changed to a bus and took a gondola up to Grouse Mountain. On top were 2 grizzly bears kept in captivity and at night, there was a spectacular night view of the city.

Had a final presentation for the China Immersion Programme (CHIP) yesterday. Had to wake up super early cos it started at 830am. I only had to do the clicking while xinyi did my part of the presentation cos i did it during the rehersal haha =P. Anyway the presentation was not bad and Proff Li gave a super hilarious talk with all the pictures and captions he made... haha... he prepared 131 pages of word doc for a 10mins talk...but it was those few words on each page kind lar... haha... got xinyi's sleepy face while we were listening to a talk at an industrial park, and me, si Qing and isabelle trying to immitate the models after a fashion show... but i don't have the pics so can't show it here =x

One of the proff said something that was really true...wat did i learn going for this trip? well i guess the industry visits did give me an idea of what it was like, the presentation we did also made me aware of the chemical studies system in China and appreciate its difference to our own system. But i guess the most important and crucial part of the whole trip was the friendship forged and contacts made... I really din understand how important it was for networking and keeping contacts but trust me, it is Very Important!

After the trip, we got to know 2 chemistry professors better and they got to know us to, which is something not easy if you're jus a studying student. This makes it easier for me when i need recommendation letters or work with them for my FYP... haha at least they will find it harder to reject us too since they kind of know us liao heehee... Then got to know more chemistry mates too hahha makes going to lectures more fun liao.. not so lonely anymore. Need to ask questions or borrow lab report or anything also easier keke =P Hopefully i'll remember this and make as many friends as possible in CAnadA!!!
